Accepting these terms
These terms apply to every visit to the It's My Egypt website and to every tour, package, Nile cruise and dahabiya sailing you book with us. By browsing the site, sending us a travel brief or confirming a booking, you agree to them on your own behalf and on behalf of everyone travelling with you.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the website or book a journey with us.
Bookings and payment
A booking is confirmed once we have received your deposit and sent you a written confirmation with the itinerary, dates and total price. Prices are shown per person in the currency selected on the site and include only the services listed in the itinerary.
- A deposit of 30% secures your dates; the balance is due 30 days before departure.
- Bookings made less than 30 days before departure are paid in full at confirmation.
- International flights, visas, travel insurance and personal expenses are not included unless stated.
Cancellations and refunds
You may cancel a booking at any time by writing to us. Because permits, boats and hotels are reserved in your name, the refund depends on how close to departure you cancel:
- More than 60 days before departure: full refund, minus bank charges.
- 30 to 60 days before departure: the deposit is kept, the rest is refunded.
- Less than 30 days before departure: no refund, but the booking can be moved once to new dates within 12 months.
Changes to your itinerary
Travel in Egypt depends on the Nile, the weather and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. Site opening hours, river levels or official events may occasionally require us to change the order of visits or replace a service with one of equal or higher value.
We will always tell you as soon as possible. If a change significantly alters your journey, you may accept it or cancel with a full refund of the services affected.
Your responsibilities as a traveler
Our guides will look after you, but some things only you can take care of. Before you travel, please make sure that:
- Your passport is valid for at least six months after your return date and you hold the right visa.
- You have travel insurance covering medical care, evacuation and cancellation.
- You tell us about any health condition or mobility need that may affect the itinerary.
- You respect the rules of every site, including photography limits and dress codes in places of worship.
Our liability
We choose our hotels, boats, drivers and partners carefully and are responsible for delivering the services we confirm to you. We are not responsible for delays, losses or costs caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, strikes, flight cancellations or official closures.
Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the service concerned, except where the law does not allow this limit.
Using the website
The texts, photographs, maps and travel guides on this site belong to It's My Egypt or to their authors. You may share links and quote short passages with credit, but you may not copy, sell or republish the content without our written permission.
We do our best to keep prices, dates and descriptions accurate, but errors can happen. The details in your written confirmation always take precedence over the website.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. We will always try to resolve a concern with you directly first; if that is not possible, the courts of Cairo will have jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Bookings already confirmed remain under the terms that applied when you booked.
